SOMEHOW....

The sky above beams one moment

And darkens under clouds the next

Spring or autumn

It can't make up its mind

A bit like the way I feel

Hope and fear, delight and despair

A terrifying mixture

That makes my throat hurt and my stomach churn

And all seem so much less beautiful

Be it golden leaves crunching under my feet

Or a the pristine clarity of a snowy day

Or a yellow carpet of wild daffodils

Then if you were here

To lighten the air with your voice and laughter

It just looks like another long day

But I'll get through Sunday somehow....

Miles of land and sea and sky

Stand between you and I

Dreams and schemes that's all it seems

For you and me

So close your eyes and let me see

The world you live in

And I'll close mine to and describe to you

The way I feel for you

The love that's there is warm and strong

Reaches you through the silent winds

It's soft caress on your skin

Brings my touch to you

And gently runs through your hair

The way my fingers long to do

And whispers soft in your ear

The words I want to say

And the miles soon disappear

Because there is you and me

And a love that will always be

From now until eternity!
